Joseph K. Presley
Joseph K. Presley is Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cumberland Trust and has supported the company’s commitment to client service, development, and market growth since he joined Cumberland Trust in 2001. Previously, Mr. Presley served as Chairman, President, and CEO and as President and Chief Operating Officer of Cumberland Trust.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Mr. Presley served as Senior Vice President and Head of Personal Trust Services for SunTrust Bank where he presided over the personal trust administration, estate settlement, tax, trust real estate, sales, and endowment/foundations divisions. He is past President of the following organizations: the Estate Planning Council of Nashville, the Tennessee Bankers Association Trust Division, and the Planned Giving Council of Nashville.
An avid supporter of the visual and performing arts, Mr. Presley has served as board member, vice-chair, and treasurer for the Nashville Symphony; board member and finance committee member for Cheekwood; board member, vice-chair, and head of public arts for Nashville for the Metro Arts Commission; and currently as board member of the Arts & Business Council.
Mr. Presley holds a B.A. in Economics from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He received his J.D. from the Nashville School of Law. Mr. Presley is a licensed attorney and Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA).
Jennie Menzie
Jennie Menzie serves as CEO and President of Cumberland Trust, steering the company’s vision with an unwavering commitment to delivering personalized, high-touch trust and estate administration services. Her strategic initiatives not only drive substantial market growth but also solidify the company’s reputation for unparalleled dedication to client service.
Since joining Cumberland Trust in 2012, Jennie has been instrumental in propelling the company beyond $9 billion in assets under administration. Her role involves not only overseeing long-term planning goals but also collaborating with financial advisors, estate planning attorneys, and other advisors to optimize outcomes for mutual clients.
Jennie’s professional journey includes pivotal roles such as Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Counsel, Chief Strategy Officer and Assistant General Counsel at Cumberland Trust. Before joining Cumberland Trust, she held positions including that of Vice President at Thompson & Associates, Assistant General Counsel of WebMD Envoy, Senior Tax Consultant at Arthur Andersen, and practicing attorney at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis.
Her educational background comprises a B.S. in Business Administration from Auburn University, a J.D. from Vanderbilt School of Law, and a Masters in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Florida School of Law. Notably, she is a Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning from the Institute of Charitable Estate Planning, showcasing her expertise in the field of philanthropy. Jennie also contributes to the industry by serving on the Board of Directors of The Association of Trust Organizations and on the Advisory Board of the McCombs Wealth Management Center at the McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin.
Christopher D. Buckley
Chris Buckley joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2006. As Chief Fiduciary Officer, Chris oversees the day-to-day management of the entire Administration team, which includes Personal Trust Administration, Special Needs Trust Administration, and Estate Administration. Previously, Chris served as Senior Vice President, Managing Director, and Head of Administration. Chris has many years of experience in relationship management and trust account administration and has specialized in serving high net worth individuals and families. Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer and as an Operations Supervisor at Independence Trust Company.
Chris is a chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA). He holds a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Lipscomb University and is a graduate of Southern Trust School.
C. Runcie Clements, IV
C. Runcie Clements, IV joined Cumberland Trust and Investment Company in 2002 and serves as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel. Mr. Clements heads up a legal team, made up of attorneys, compliance officers, and specialists. He advises the company on trust and estate administration, special assets administration, fiduciary compliance and corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Runcie was the Charitable Giving Counsel for the American Cancer Society where he advised nationwide staff on legal and tax issues in the areas of planned giving, outright gifts, and other charitable giving arrangements. He has also worked in a private legal practice in the areas of estate planning, taxation, real estate, and general business. Runcie is a licensed attorney and CPA.
Runcie is a graduate of Baylor University with a B.B.A. in Accounting. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University. Additionally, he is on the Board of Directors of the Center for Living and Learning and on the Advisory Board for Men of Valor.
Michelle Diamond
Michelle Diamond is Chief Development Officer. She joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2001, at the firm’s founding. At Cumberland’s start, Michelle, a Trust Officer, helped to establish the open architecture platform that focuses on helping families and forming partnerships with advisors. Early on, she developed the Special Needs Trust group, serving the needs of client family members with disabilities. As Cumberland Trust grew, Michelle developed the blueprint for expansion into regional markets and she worked to open our nine regional offices. Currently, Michelle manages the business development team, who work in Cumberland Trust’s headquarters and in each of its regional offices. She is responsible for overseeing the development team and its new trust opportunities.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she was a Trust Officer at First Tennessee providing account and administration support to families in the areas of personal trust, employee benefits, and investment management.
Michelle holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. She was awarded the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor Designation (CTFA) and is a graduate of Cannon Trust School, through Cannon Financial Institute.
Michelle is a regular speaker for industry-related events nationwide, and she has been published in The Tennessean.
Dan Jernigan
Dan Jernigan serves as Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary for Cumberland Trust. In this role, Dan works closely with external and internal auditors, while managing a team focused on Fiduciary Compliance, Corporate Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, and Audit. He previously served as Cumberland Trust’s Corporate Secretary, Senior Vice President, and Managing Director of Compliance and Risk Management. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Dan was Vice President and Audit Supervisor of Internal Audit for Reliance Trust Company/Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. (FIS). In addition, Dan has over 15 years of custody and trust operations experience from previous positions with State Street Bank and Reliance Trust Company.
Dan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, with a major in Finance.
Scott Kendrick
Scott Kendrick joined Cumberland Trust in 2023 after serving as an executive consultant to the company since 2021. As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Scott leads the company’s accounting and finance organization. Previously, Scott was the Principal of Kendrick Financial Services, LLC, an accounting firm assisting clients with technical accounting issues, mergers and acquisitions, SEC reporting, initial public offerings, debt offerings, and executive leadership. Prior to forming his firm, Scott was an assurance partner with Ernst and Young LLP.
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Tennessee Tech University. Scott is past Treasurer and an Executive Committee member of Friends of Warner Parks and Nashville Repertory Theatre and currently serves as Audit Committee Chairman for First Presbyterian Church of Nashville.
Asha P. Nivison
Asha Patel Nivison joined Cumberland Trust in 2012 and serves as Chief Information Officer. She has over 25 years of Operations, Project Management, and Software/Programs Implementations experience in custody and trust operations, as well as the healthcare industry. In her current role, Asha oversees fiduciary operations (including account opening, asset transfer, and closing), technology initiatives, and software implementations that support efficient inter-departmental processes and strategic initiatives. Previously, she held the position of Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Operations and Technology.
Prior to Cumberland Trust, Asha served as Director of Implementations at Change Healthcare (formerly Emdeon), where she managed multiple onshore and offshore teams responsible for implementing direct claims connections. Her previous experience includes serving as Vice President in the Global Securities Services Custody Operations department at Deutsche Bank/State Street as well as Director of Client Services at Informa Solutions (formerly Investment Scorecard).
Asha holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Belmont University and an MBA from the Jack C. Massey School of Business at Belmont University. Asha serves on the board of the Women’s Fund with the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and is an active supporter and volunteer of Cheekwood cultural events.
Lori Thoeny
Lori Thoeny joined Cumberland Trust in 2008 after working more than 15 years in the brokerage industry. In her current role as Chief Strategy Officer, Lori oversees all marketing, strategy, and corporate initiatives and works in the development, planning, and management of various strategic initiatives aimed at reaching current and new target audiences. Previously, Lori served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Corporate Strategy. Prior to that, she held an integral role as manager within Cumberland Trust’s Personal Trust Administration team, with a specialized focus on relationships with high-net-worth families. Before joining Cumberland Trust, Lori worked in the Institutional Sales division and Private Wealth Management group at Merrill Lynch and at Morgan Keegan and J. C. Bradford and Company.
Lori holds a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Western Kentucky University. She is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and has completed Cannon’s Trust School program. Lori is also a graduate of Belmont University’s Center for Executive Education in Financial Planning and has obtained CFP® certification.
Millie Adams
Millie Adams joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Officer in 2022. In this role, Millie works with the Personal Trust Administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. She focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding to build relationships with the clients and families she serves.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Millie served as an Associate Wealth Advisor at Truxton Trust, providing sophisticated and personalized wealth management services. Previously, Millie worked in the interior design industry where she specialized in developing interior design solutions and delivering superior client service.
Millie holds a B.A. in Political Science from Northwestern University. She earned a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Outside of work, Millie enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Caroline Baumgartner
Caroline Mitchell joined Cumberland Trust in 2019. On the legal team, as Vice President and Fiduciary Counsel, Caroline reviews and drafts documents relating to trust and estate accounts. Prior to joining the legal team, Caroline worked as a Trust Officer in the estates administration department overseeing administration of estate and administrative trust accounts. Caroline previously served as an Assistant Vice President and Trust Advisor at SunTrust administering trusts and managing high net worth client relationships.
Caroline received a B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Arkansas. She was awarded a J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law and holds her LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Caroline is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association, and the Estate Planning Council of Middle Tennessee. She is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and Tennessee.
Mac Berklacich
Mac Berklacich joined Cumberland Trust’s Legal team in 2024 and serves as Fiduciary Counsel and Legal Officer. In this role, he reviews and drafts documents relating to incoming and transferring trusts. Prior, Mac worked for the State of Tennessee for four years as an Intelligence Analyst. Previously, he served two years in the United States Navy.
Mac received a B.A. in Russian Language and Cultural Studies from Sewanee: The University of the South and a M.A. in International Security from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. He earned his J.D. from Belmont University College of Law.
Caroline L. H. Bradshaw
Caroline L. H. Bradshaw joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2007. As Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Administration, Caroline is responsible for relationship management and personal trust account administration, with a focus on high-net-worth families and their needs. Additionally, Caroline mentors trust officers and their teams, building lasting connections between Cumberland Trust’s relationship managers, external financial, legal, and tax advisors, and clients. She also serves as the business development liaison, representing Cumberland Trust externally and working closely with the Business Development team in evaluating new business opportunities.
Her previous experience includes working in the investment banking division of JP Morgan in the firm’s New York, Hong Kong, and Sydney, Australia offices. Then, in the managerial roles of Vice President and Senior Client Manager for JP Morgan’s Private Client Group in New York. During her time in JP Morgan’s Private Client Group, she provided comprehensive investment management and trust services, representing individuals and families in Texas and Louisiana.
Caroline holds a B.A. in Economics from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Caroline serves as a board member of the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee and on the board of directors for Humanities Tennessee. She is an active supporter of Cheekwood and the annual Swan Ball.
A regular speaker for industry events nationwide, Caroline focuses on topics related to high-net-worth families, such as succession planning, strategies to engage next generations, and partnering with a corporate trustee. Most recently, she was a featured speaker for the Cannon Financial Personal Trust School program in Nashville and a presenter to the Association of Trust Organizations at their 2024 annual meeting in Texas.
Starr Bruner
Starr Bruner joined the Cumberland Trust team in Atlanta in 2024. As a Business Development Officer, Starr works with Shelly Donaldson to expand Cumberland Trust’s reach in Georgia—building relationships with financial, legal, and tax advisors to serve our mutual clients.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Starr worked for six years at the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities where she most recently served as Director of Inclusive Postsecondary Education & Employment. In this role, Starr collaborated with legislators, families, students, universities, and state agencies to support legislative advocacy for college programs for students with intellectual disabilities.
Previously, Starr worked as a Capacity Administrator at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and as a Client Relationship Manager at The Donaldson Law Firm. She also has extensive experience in Applied Behavior Analysis, both in-clinic and in-home, serving children with developmental disabilities.
Starr earned a B.S. in Psychology from Kennesaw State University.
A Southwest Georgia native, Starr has been an Atlanta resident for more than 17 years. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Frazer Center, a nonprofit organization committed to fostering educational, vocational, and social opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.
Phillip Burnett
Phillip Burnett joined the Estate Administration team in 2018. As a Trust Officer, Phillip administers estates and post-mortem trusts. He works with clients and beneficiaries to understand the steps of the estate process. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Phillip worked as an intern on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (Mississippi). He assisted the senator’s staff in the drafting of legislative documents, helped prepare for Senate Appropriation Committee meetings, and learned about the legislative process from behind the scenes.
Phillip holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management from the University of Mississippi. He is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School.
Chase Caldwell
Chase Caldwell serves as Director, Assistant Controller and Assistant Secretary for Cumberland Trust. In this role, Chase focuses on Cumberland Trust’s corporate operations. He manages accounts day-to-day financials, while additionally assisting our Fiduciary Compliance Committee. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Chase worked at Bellhops in Chattanooga as a Business Analyst.
Chase holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Mary Elizabeth Carothers
Mary Elizabeth Carothers joined Cumberland Trust in 2021. As a Trust Administrator and collaborative member of the Personal Trust Administration team, Mary Elizabeth provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration.
Mary Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance and a secondary degree in Music Business from Belmont University in Nashville. Throughout her time at Belmont, she held internships focusing on account and business management. Additionally, at Belmont, Mary Elizabeth was involved in many organizations, assisting with the recruitment of new students, and maintaining the school’s relationship with alumni and board members.
Shelby Carpenter
Shelby Carpenter began work at Cumberland Trust in 2016. As Vice President and Trust Officer in the personal trust division, she is focused on providing a high level of responsiveness and attention to her clients. Previously, Shelby held positions at a nationwide mortgage lender and with a Nashville real estate team. Additionally, she has experience as a sales assistant for a local stock brokerage firm where she was Series 7 and 66 licensed.
Shelby holds a B.S. in Communication with a focus in Public Relations from Florida State University. She received her Master’s degree in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She was awarded the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation (CTFA) and is a graduate of Cannon Trust School, through Cannon Financial Institute.
Bob Carville
Bob Carville joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2022. As a Business Development Officer, Bob focuses on building relationships with financial advisors, attorneys, and tax professionals throughout the state of Florida. Based on the west coast of Florida, Bob regularly frequents the major markets across the state. He focuses on connecting Florida individuals and families and their professional advisors with high caliber, directed trust administration services.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Bob had an extensive career in asset management, financial consulting, retirement planning, and branch management with Fidelity Investments and Charles Schwab & Company. Previously, he served as Vice President of business development for a regional trust company in western New York.
Originally from New York state, Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. Bob and his wife Jodi have two adult sons, and they live in the Fort Myers, Florida area.
Eleanor Claiborne
Eleanor Claiborne joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2012 and works in corporate strategy, events, and marketing. She develops and implements marketing initiatives for Cumberland Trust’s ten offices. Previously, Eleanor worked as an intern for The Frist Center’s development department and in the development and finance division of Christie’s New York.
She received a B.A. in Art History with a minor in French from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
Tenisha Clausi
Tenisha Clausi joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2013. She serves as Vice President and Trust Officer in personal trust administration. Tenisha specializes in providing attentive and professional service to her clients. She focuses on helping clients needing extra support through the coordination of distinctive care services. Before joining Cumberland Trust, Tenisha worked as a paralegal for the Law Office of Rob McKinney. She retired her real estate license after serving the Franklin, Tennessee community for twelve years.
Tenisha received her master’s degree from Ohio University and B.S. in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, with minors in Economics and Finance. She was awarded the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation (CTFA) and is a graduate of Cannon Trust School, through Cannon Financial Institute.
Meg Cressman
Meg Cressman joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2022. In her role as Vice President, Compliance and Risk Management Officer, she works closely with external and internal auditors, while focusing on Fiduciary Compliance, Corporate Compliance, and Regulatory Compliance. Prior, Meg practiced as an Associate Attorney at Goodman Callahan Blackstone, PLLC, handling Estate Administration and Probate. Previously, she served as Vice President, Trust Advisor at SunTrust Investment Co. handling Trust Administration for their private wealth management department.
Meg started her career with Cumberland Trust in 2011 as a Trust Officer with the Special Needs Administration team and later transitioned to the role of Assistant Fiduciary Counsel.
Meg holds an A.B. in Political Science from Colgate University. She received her J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. Meg is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Stephen Crofford
Stephen Crofford joined Cumberland Trust in 2016. In his role as Vice President and Senior Fiduciary Counsel, Stephen reviews and drafts documents relating to trust and estate accounts. Previously, Stephen served as Fiduciary Counsel and Special Assets Officer—reviewing and preparing documents and working with unique, illiquid, and hard-to-value assets held in trust.
Stephen received a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a J.D. from Belmont University College of Law in Nashville. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Shelly Donaldson
Shelly Donaldson serves as the Vice President and Business Development Officer based in Cumberland Trust’s Atlanta office. In her role, Shelly connects individuals, families and their financial, legal, and tax advisors with Cumberland Trust’s high caliber trust and estate administration services. She is dedicated to expanding our presence in the Georgia market by developing relationships with professional advisors within the local estate planning community and their clients.
Shelly has been a practicing attorney for most of her career and has 14+ years of experience in estate planning, tax and corporate law—specializing in estate planning for high-net-worth clients and families. She has particular expertise in tax and estate planning involving real estate, closely held business entities and planning for a family member with a disability (Special Needs Planning).
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Shelly founded The Donaldson Law Firm following experience at other firms including Lefkoff, Duncan, Grimes, McSwain & Hass, P.C. and Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP.
Shelly served on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Bar Association Fiduciary Law Section and was a past chair of the Atlanta Bar Estate Planning and Probate Section. She is also a past board member of The Bobby Dodd Institute, a nonprofit that helps individuals living with a disability succeed at work, in the community and in life. Shelly currently serves as a Special Olympics of Georgia Advisory Board Member and Atlanta Lab Rescue Board Member and Secretary.
Shelly graduated cum laude from the Fredric G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida, where she also served as an editor of the Law Review. She holds a B.B.A. in finance from Auburn University.
April D. Drennan
April Drennan joined Cumberland Trust in 2019. As Vice President & Director of Special Assets Administration, April works in ongoing administration of special assets held in trust, such as commercial or residential real estate; closely-held business interests; mineral, oil, and gas interests; and promissory notes. Her duties include coordinating the purchase and sale of properties held in trust, analyzing appraisals and inspections, overseeing the management of special assets owned in trust, and navigating complicated situations to provide excellent client service to families that have special assets in their trust portfolios. She also manages a growing team of Special Assets Administration professionals providing specialized administration of these complex trust assets. Prior to Cumberland Trust, April worked at SunTrust Bank (now Truist) as a Trust Advisor, as well as a Closely-Held Business Asset Manager, where she managed a portfolio of privately-held assets owned in trusts or other structures where SunTrust had a fiduciary capacity.
April holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. She also holds an MBA from Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee. April is also a graduate of ABA Trust School, as well as Cannon’s Unique and Hard to Value Assets School. She is a member of the National Trust Real Estate Association (NTREA), as well as the National Trust Closely Held Business Association (NTCHBA).
Emily Dye
Emily Dye joined Cumberland Trust in 2019. As a Trust Officer, Emily provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Emily worked at a holistic wellness center working with client families.
Emily holds a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia. She is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School.
Will Ellison
Will Ellison joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2024. In his role as Business Development Officer, Will works with Heather Savage to expand Cumberland Trust’s reach in East Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. He builds relationships with the estate planning communities in these regions to connect individuals, families and their financial, legal, and tax advisors with Cumberland Trust’s personalized trust solutions.
Prior to his role with Cumberland Trust, Will worked as a Senior Compliance Analyst with Deloitte, researching and analyzing cryptocurrency and alternative investments. Previously, Will worked as part of Cumberland Trust’s Personal Trust Administration team as a Trust Specialist, collaborating with a team of relationship managers and providing responsive and attentive service to clients. Additionally, Will served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Early in his professional journey, he worked as an intern for Raymond James Bank in their Internal Audit department.
Will holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Auburn University.
Michelle Femino
Michelle Femino joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Specialist in 2022. As a collaborative member of the Special Needs Trust Administration team, Michelle provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked as an elementary and middle school teacher for more than 20 years in Philadelphia, Nashville, and Pegram.
Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from Aquinas College.
Renée Frederiksen
Renée Frederiksen joined Cumberland Trust 2015. She serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Tax. Previously, Renée held the role of Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Corporate Development, working with our business development team to manage our growth throughout the country and implementing strategic initiatives. She has also served as a trust officer in personal trust administration, administering trusts for high-net-worth individuals and families. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Renée was Vice President and Trust Advisor with SunTrust Bank and prior to that she was Director of Planned Giving for the YMCA of Middle Tennessee. Renée has worked for more than 20 years in the financial services industry and for the past 15 years specifically with trusts focusing on endowments, foundations, and personal trusts.

Danielle Frye
Danielle Frye joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Specialist in 2022. As a collaborative member of the Personal Trust Administration team, Danielle provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration.
Danielle earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. While attending college, she served as a member of the executive student government and assisted University Admissions in the recruitment of prospective students.
Alex Gillott
Alex Gillott has been with the Cumberland Trust team since 2013. Alex is the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Cumberland Trust’s personal trust administration division. He specializes in guiding high-net-worth individuals and families through the administration and management of personal trusts and foundations. Additionally, he manages a growing team of personal trust officers, administrators, and specialists. Alex began at Cumberland Trust working on the legal team and then transitioned to the administration of trust accounts. Previously, he worked as a conflict analyst with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. Alex is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Alex holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Belmont University (magna cum laude). He received his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut.
Stephen Granberg
Stephen Granberg joined the Cumberland Trust Special Asset Administration team in 2022 as a Special Assets Administrator. In this role, Stephen collaborates with a team working with unique, illiquid, and hard-to-value assets held in trust. He assists with various tasks related to real estate; oil, mineral, gas interests; LLC interests and other special assets for Cumberland Trust’s clients.
Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics with a concentration in Business Economics from the University of California, Davis. He has held internships with Davos Investment Group, performing macroeconomic and market research; as well as Vault Investment Properties, working with real estate investment.
Outside of work, Stephen enjoys supporting charitable organizations that help raise funds for various non-profits, such as the USO.
Jake Greenwald
Jake Greenwald joined Cumberland Trust team in 2024 as an Associate in Compliance and Risk Management. In this role, Jake focuses on the standards and procedures of risk mitigation, including account reviews and documentation. Importantly, the Compliance and Risk Management team focuses on ensuring Cumberland Trust complies with various regulatory requirements and adheres to company policies and procedures, supporting the protection and preservation of client assets. Previously, Jake served as a Vendor Services Intern for Ncontracts.
Jake holds B.B.A. degrees in Management and Finance from The University of Mississippi. Additionally, Jake has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of North Mississippi to support fundraisers and special projects.
Carla Hale
Carla Hale joined Cumberland Trust in 2009. As Vice President and Manager, Business Development Associate, Carla oversees the onboarding of new business in the Nashville area while managing a team of engagement officers. In this role, she works closely with clients and their families, along with their legal, financial, and tax professional advisors. Previously, Carla worked in Cumberland Trust’s personal trust administration and tax divisions. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked for Larson Juhl as a customer service team leader.
Carla received a B.A. in Art with a minor in Psychology from West Georgia University in Carrollton, Georgia.
Dayton F. Hale III
Dayton Hale joined Cumberland Trust in 2013 as a Trust Officer for special assets. As Vice President and Director of the Special Assets team, Dayton works primarily in the evaluation and ongoing administration of special assets, including mineral, oil and gas interests, commercial and residential real estate, closely held business interests, agricultural and rural real estate, timber properties and promissory notes. His duties include coordinating the purchase and disposition of trust held properties, ordering and analyzing appraisals and overseeing the management of special assets and properties held in trust.
Previously, Dayton worked in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for Hawkeye Oil and Gas, Inc., a small oil and gas exploration company involved in coal bed methane and other conventional operations in the Black Warrior Basin of Alabama. Prior to joining Cumberland, he also worked as a law clerk for Stites and Harbison, PLLC in Franklin, Tennessee.
Dayton received his B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, a licensed affiliate broker with the State of Tennessee, and a member of the National Trust Real Estate Association (NTREA).
Rebecca Halvorson
Rebecca Halvorson joined Cumberland Trust in 2010. As Senior Vice President and Managing Director in Corporate Development, she cultivates relationships, working with families and advisors to deliver a full range of trust services. Rebecca’s previous experience includes working as a Management Consultant for Ernst & Young, a Financial Analyst, and then Managing Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Contributions for FedEx.
Rebecca holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Economics from Rhodes College in Memphis and an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from Indiana University.
Rebecca is a native of Memphis and remains involved in the community. She is a member and past board member of the Financial Planning Association of Greater Memphis and a member of the Memphis Estate Planning Council. Additionally, she is a member and past board member of Le Bonheur Club and is active with the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis and the Mid-South and SRVS Kids & Families.
Rebecca has participated in the Memphis Business Journal Table of Experts panel conversations.
Lindsay Hardin
Lindsay Hardin joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2015. She enjoys welcoming clients and guests, making them feel comfortable and at ease. In fact, Lindsay’s will be the first friendly voice you’ll likely hear when you call Cumberland Trust. Previously, she served as a Trust Specialist in administration and as she developed relationships there, Lindsay discovered that what she enjoys most is speaking with clients and interacting with them more personally on a daily basis. Lindsay has a wealth of experience in customer service and provider relations in the healthcare field as well as teaching and communications.
Lindsay earned a B.A. in Communications and English from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She also studied abroad at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
Meredith Harville
Meredith Harville joined Cumberland Trust in 2021. Meredith serves as a Business Development Associate. In this role, she provides direct support to the business development team, assisting with ongoing development and onboarding of new and prospective Cumberland Trust clients and their professional advisors. Prior to her role on the business development team, Meredith was a Trust Administrator, focusing on the day-to-day administration of personal trust relationships. Before joining Cumberland Trust, Meredith worked for over five years with Nike, Inc. in their Tennessee offices.
Meredith graduated from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Laura Hawken
Laura Hawken joined Cumberland Trust in 2019. As Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer in personal trust administration, Laura focuses on providing a high quality of service to clients. Laura specializes in administration with distinctive care services, an extra level of support for individuals and families.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Laura served as Care Manager and Executive Director for Blakeford At Home, providing older adults with information, services, and guidance to maintain the highest level of independence in their homes. Additionally, she has worked for Life Crisis Services and the Incarnate Word Hospital, specializing in geriatric care.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Social Work from St. Louis University. Laura serves on the Board of Directors for HutsonWood, a network of long-term health and housing solutions for aging adults, children and adults with disabilities, and those seeking affordable housing. In the community, Laura supports children in the foster care system, previously fostering a child for two years until adoption, and as a past volunteer for CASA.
Layla Hebert
Layla Hebert joined Cumberland Trust’s legal team in 2021 and currently serves as Assistant Vice President, Fiduciary and Special Assets Counsel. In this role, Layla focuses on the evaluation of incoming unique, illiquid and hard to value assets held in trust such as mineral, oil, and gas interests, commercial and residential real estate, closely held business interests, agricultural and rural real estate, timber properties and promissory notes, while also working to assist in the ongoing administration of those assets. Additionally, Layla focuses on reviewing and drafting documents relating to incoming and transferring trusts. Layla has extensive experience in due diligence, contracting, and compliance. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Layla held the role of contract drafting, review, and negotiation for Vanderbilt University Medical Center as well as experience in due diligence contract review for healthcare companies anticipating mergers and acquisitions. Layla’s background also includes experience in utilities regulation while conducting legal research and writing for the Louisiana Public Service Commission.
Layla received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Pre-Law from the Louisiana State University E.J. Ourso College of Business. She received her J.D. and Bachelor of Civil Law from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Layla is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Louisiana. She is a member of the National Trust Real Estate Association (NTREA) and the Estate Planning Council of Middle Tennessee.
Gisselle Herrera
Gisselle Herrera joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Specialist in 2024. In this role, Gisselle works with the Special Needs Trust administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. Gisselle focuses on being proactive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families she serves. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked as an administrative assistant for a tax firm, specializing in client relations. She has extensive experience in bookkeeping, sales, and collections.
Outside of work, Gisselle enjoys volunteering at her church and spending time with her children and grandchild.
Andrea Higgins
Andrea Higgins joined Cumberland Trust in 2022. As Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, Andrea works with the personal trust administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. She focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding to build relationships with the clients and families she serves.
Andrea has extensive experience in financial planning, account management, and trust administration and management. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked at both HSBC and Merrill Lynch in their offices in the UK, Malta, and the UAE. She is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and earned Financial Planning Certificates 1, 2, and 3 from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.
Andrea holds a B.A. in History of Art and Architecture from the University of Reading in England. She enjoys volunteering with animal rescue organizations and supporting various charities to help fight against animal cruelty.
Jody Hines
Jody Hines serves as Vice President and Trust Officer in the Personal Trust Administration department. Jody joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2010. In his role, Jody administers personal trusts, providing responsive service to our clients and their external advisors. Previously, he focused on the administration of life insurance trusts. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, he held corporate accounting positions at internet start-ups and Fortune 500 companies.
He is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and has completed Cannon’s Trust School program.
Natalicia Hosseinzadeh
Natalicia Hosseinzadeh joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2018. Natalicia serves as a Assistant Vice President and Special Assets Officer, working with unique, illiquid, and hard-to-value assets held in trust. She assists with various tasks related to real estate; oil, mineral, gas interests; LLC interests and other special assets for Cumberland Trust’s clients. She also has experience working in personal trust administration with clients requiring senior care and special care services.
Natalicia holds a degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Natalicia has been a member of the National Associate of Realtors® and Greater Nashville Realtors Association since 2017.
Elly Hutchings
Elly Hutchings joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2015. Originally from Lake McQueeney, Texas, as Vice President and Regional Development Officer Elly focuses on building relationships with legal, financial, and tax professionals throughout the state of Texas. She is based in Austin and frequents the Dallas and Houston markets, connecting Texas individuals and families with high caliber trust and estate administration services. Previously, Elly served as a trust officer in Cumberland Trust’s Nashville headquarters, administering trust relationships and providing direct client support. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Elly served as Deputy Finance Director for a Nashville mayoral campaign and prior to that as a director of a prison re-entry program in Texas.
Elly received a B.S. in Psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and an M.B.A. from Concordia University in San Antonio, Texas.
Nathan Hyde
Nathan Hyde joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2002 and serves as Senior Vice President and Director, Business Continuity and Information Security. Before joining Cumberland Trust, Nathan worked as a Senior Consultant with Financial Industry Technical Services. His prior experience includes serving as Trust Operations Manager for First American National Bank and as a Registered Principal with Summit Brokerage Services.
Nathan is a Certified Securities Operations Professional (CSOP), a designation awarded by Cannon Financial Institute.
Bedell James
Bedell James joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2024 as Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Corporate Development. In his role, Bedell leads corporate development in Middle Tennessee. He collaborates with estate planning attorneys, financial advisors, CPAs, and other professional advisors to serve individuals and families seeking bespoke trust and estate administration services.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Bedell served as Director of Institutional Advancement at Ensworth School. Through his guidance and relationship-building, the school successfully completed three major campaigns, raising over $200,000,000 in support of capital, endowment, and operating needs. At Ensworth, Bedell also served as liaison to the Advancement Committee and Investment Committee of the Board, where he assisted in overseeing the endowment to ensure that generations of students will benefit from its impact.
Previously, Bedell served as Senior Vice President and Head of Administration at Independence Trust Company in Nashville. In his seven-year tenure, he contributed to significant growth in total assets and number of employees.
Originally from Rome, Georgia, Bedell earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lynchburg College in Virginia. Bedell and his wife Anne have three children and reside in Nashville.
Elizabeth Kaegi
Elizabeth Kaegi joined the Cumberland Trust legal team in 2021 and serves as Assistant Vice President and Fiduciary Counsel. In this role, she reviews and drafts documents relating to incoming and transferring trusts. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Elizabeth practiced as a contract attorney with Legility, LLC. Her background also includes experience in federal and state contract management, and insurance defense litigation.
Elizabeth holds a B.A. (magna cum laude) in Public Relations and a B.S. in Spanish from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She received her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in Lexington, Kentucky. Elizabeth is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Coleman Kimbrough
Coleman Kimbrough originally joined Cumberland Trust’s legal team in 2017 and now serves as Fiduciary Counsel and Legal Officer. In this role, he reviews and drafts documents relating to incoming and transferring trusts. Originally from Memphis, Coleman previously worked as a law clerk for Teresa R. Hurst, Attorney. He also has experience as an intern for The Honorable Rhynette N. Hurd, Division V of Shelby County Circuit Court and for The Office of the United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
Coleman received a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Mississippi State University (magna cum laude) and earned his J.D. from the University of Memphis School of Law (magna cum laude). In May of 2024, Coleman received his Master of Theological Studies from Saint John’s School of Theology in Collegeville, MN. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Douglas Kirkpatrick
Douglas Kirkpatrick joined Cumberland Trust in 2009. As Vice President of Corporate Development, Douglas works to expand Cumberland Trust’s relationships with families and advisors in the Nashville region. Previously, she served for ten years as a paralegal and raised her three, now grown, children.
Douglas holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Tennessee and a Paralegal Certificate from the National Institute of Paralegal Training in Atlanta.
Ms. Kirkpatrick is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Nashville, former president of the Harding Academy Parent Association, and has served on the board for Nashville Children’s Theater.
Rachel Fuqua Klages
Rachel Fuqua joined the Estate Administration team as a Trust Officer in 2015. While in law school, she developed a passion for estate planning during her time in the Homer A. Jones, Jr. Wills Clinic. Rachel now leads the Estate Administration department, which administers trusts and estates of various sizes and complexity throughout the southeast. She specializes in estate and post-mortem trust administration, especially those involving complicated family structures and tax issues.
Rachel holds a B.A. in American Studies from the University of Tennessee (summa cum laude). She received her J.D. with a concentration in Business Transactions from the University of Tennessee College of Law (magna cum laude). Rachel is licensed to practice law in Tennessee. Additionally, she is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Middle Tennessee.
Rachel is involved with the Pencil Foundation for Metro Nashville Public Schools literacy program, where she works with elementary students to help them improve their reading comprehension and writing skills.
Kim Kochamba
Kim Kochamba joined the Cumberland Trust Special Needs Trust Administration team in 2023 as a Trust Specialist. In this role, Kim supports a team of relationship managers and focuses on providing responsive and attentive service to clients. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked for eight years in Special Education for the Williamson County School District.
Kim holds a B.S. and M.Ed in Special Education from the College of Charleston.
Jessica Kopperud
Jessica Kopperud joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2018. As Assistant Vice President and Corporate Strategy Officer, Jessica develops the framework and plans to support long-term strategic initiatives for Cumberland Trust. Previously, she served as an engagement officer, onboarding new trust and estate clients and acting as an internal liaison between the Business Development, Administration, and Estate departments to smoothly transition new client accounts onto our platform. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Jessica worked in sales and marketing for 13 years helping small and mid-sized business owners realize their business goals.
Jessica holds a B.S in Marketing from Indiana University and an MBA from Belmont University’s Massey Graduate School of Business.
Jessica serves on the board of The Women’s Fund, an endowment fund within The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Madison Kroeber
Madison Kroeber joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Administrator in 2024. In this role, Madison works with the personal trust administration team to support her clients, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. She prioritizes being responsive, attentive, and understanding to build relationships with the individuals and families she serves, while providing professional trust administration.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Madison worked for PwC in their Personal Financial Services division within the Tax department. While at PwC, she worked with individual, gift, trust, and estate tax returns. During her undergraduate years, she worked for the Law Office of Nancy Choate, a trust and estate firm in Jackson, Tennessee.
Madison earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in finance from Union University. Additionally, she received a Master of Accountancy degree from Vanderbilt University.
Amanda Laginess
Amanda Laginess joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2020. In her role as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, Amanda works with individuals and families, providing service and attention to the day-to-day needs of personal trust clients. She specializes in relationship building with families and their financial, legal, and tax advisors. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she served as the founding Director of Operations for a Middle Tennessee anti-human trafficking nonprofit organization. Previously, she practiced estate planning and probate law in Cincinnati, Ohio, working closely with the trust department of a local bank.
Amanda received a B.A. in Psychology from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She earned a J.D. with a focus on comparative law and human rights from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Amanda is active in the community as an event and herd photographer for Saddle Up! and was a founding member of the organization’s Family Council. Additionally, she volunteers as a photographer for the Harpeth Conservancy’s renowned River Swing event.
Beth Lee
Beth Lee joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Officer in Estate Administration in 2022. In this role, Beth works with the Estate Administration team to support families and professional advisors in the administration of estates and administrative trusts. Beth focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families she serves. Prior, Beth served as Vice President and In-House Counsel for a nationwide franchise. Previously, she practiced Entertainment Law and Labor and Employment Litigation.
Beth holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with minors in Political Science and English from Middle Tennessee State University. She received a J.D. from Nashville School of Law. Beth is a Certified Mediator and licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Sarah Leighton
Sarah Leighton joined the Cumberland Trust Personal Trust Administration team in 2022. As a Trust Administrator, Sarah administers personal trusts, supporting individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. Sarah focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families she serves.
Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Washington State University. While attending college, she interned with a commercial real estate investment firm. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Tiffany Lipscomb
Tiffany Lipscomb joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Officer in Estate Administration in 2023. In this role, Tiffany works with the Estate Administration team to support families and professional advisors in the administration of estates and administrative trusts. Tiffany focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families she serves.
Tiffany has more than 16 years of experience in trust and estate administration serving high-net-worth clients and families. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she was a paralegal at Howard Mobley Hayes & Gontarek, PLLC where she specialized in probate and estate administration. Previously, she worked at Regions Bank as a Trust Assistant, Bass Berry & Sims, PLC as a paralegal in their Trusts & Estates Practice Group and in Private Wealth Management at UBS as an in-house paralegal supporting the Field Legal Advisory Group.
Tiffany earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. She holds a Certificate of Financial Planning from Belmont University.
Heather Logan
Heather Logan joined Cumberland Trust in 2022 as Vice President, Director of Human Resources. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Heather worked for 11 years at medSR, creating and overseeing their human resources and administrative functions.
Heather holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Religion from Lambuth University. She earned a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University.
Caitlyn A. Lovell
Caitlyn A. Lovell joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2019. Caitlyn serves as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, focusing on the day-to-day administration of Special Needs Trust (SNT) relationships. Previously, Caitlyn worked as an associate manager at Tumi Inc. and, before that, as an Intern for House Representative Jim Cooper. She has also worked with the Cardinal Basketball Officials Association officiating high school basketball.
Caitlyn holds a B.S. in Sociology from Middle Tennessee State University (cum laude) with minors in Global Studies and Business Administration. She is a part of the Young Leaders Council, Class 74.
In the community, Caitlyn sings Alto 2 for Vox Grata Women’s Choir and has been a Board Member of the Tennessee Pride Chamber since 2021.
Owen Lovell
Owen Lovell joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Administrator in 2022. In this role, Owen works with the Personal Trust Administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. Owen focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families he serves. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Owen was a Trust Associate with Pendleton Square Trust Company in Nashville, Tennessee. Previously, he worked in the financial solutions industry.
Owen holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, traveling, and playing pickleball.
Jared Lynd
Jared Lynd joined Cumberland Trust in 2017. As Vice President, Trust Officer and Manager in personal trust administration, Jared leads a team of personal trust relationship managers and specializes in guiding high-net-worth clients and their professional advisors through the administration of personal trusts. Jared has extensive experience working with family offices and in the administration of complex trust assets, including inherited Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). He also leads training initiatives to support Cumberland Trust’s growing administration team as they serve clients.
Before joining the Cumberland Trust team, Jared worked as an associate attorney at Hagan Law Group, PLLC in the practice areas of business law, property law, and estate planning. Prior to law school, Jared served as a Supply Chain Analyst with General Electric.
Jared received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and was awarded a J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee. Jared is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and is active with the Estate Planning and Probate Section. Additionally, he is a member of Estate Planning Council of Middle Tennessee and active member of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Alumni Association.
Ginny Maddux
Ginny Maddux joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Officer in 2024. In this role, Ginny works with the personal trust administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. She focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding to build relationships with the clients and families she serves.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Ginny guided students and families through the college admissions process for more than 30 years. She started her career in college admissions at Dickinson College and then worked as the Director of College Counseling at The Webb School, The Harpeth Hall School, Shady Side Academy, and most recently at Montgomery Bell Academy. She prioritized listening to the needs of each student and their family to understand the best way to help them find the college best suited for them.
Ginny earned a bachelor’s degree in policy and management studies from Dickinson College.
Outside of work, Ginny has been an active member of professional organizations where she designed and led professional development programs. In 2023 she received the William Stalling Award for mentorship at the annual meeting of The Southern Association of College Admissions. She has also served as a volunteer for Christmas Village for over twenty years and was on the Board from 2022-2023.
Leslie Malkiewicz
Leslie Malkiewicz joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2014. As Vice President, Director of Legal, and Assistant General Counsel, Leslie reviews and drafts documents relating to trust accounts. Additionally, she manages the growing legal team. Previously, Leslie served as Senior Fiduciary Counsel, and prior to that as a trust officer, overseeing trust account management and administration.
Leslie earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and was awarded a J.D. from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. She studied abroad at the University of London through Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute. Leslie is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Cathy Martin
Cathy Martin joined Cumberland Trust in 2023 as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Cathy worked for 10 years at medSR, a healthcare consulting company where she oversaw multiple aspects of HR. Previously, she worked for a large, international company where she ran their HR systems and service center.
Cathy is a certified HR professional and holds a certification in Project Management. Cathy earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Valdosta State University.
Katrina Martin
Katrina Martin joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2020. In her role as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, Katrina works with the personal trust administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. Katrina focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families she serves. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked as a Branch Manager with SunTrust Bank in Nashville.
Katrina holds a B.S.B.A (magna cum laude) in Marketing with a minor in Hospitality from the University of Central Florida. She is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School program and has been awarded the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. Katrina was selected by Cannon as the 2023 recipient of the Fran M. DeMaris Award for Excellence in Trust Services, which recognizes outstanding individuals in the trust and estate planning industry.
Kailey McCann
Kailey McCann joined Cumberland Trust as a Business Development Associate in 2022. In this role, Kailey provides direct support to the business development team, assisting with ongoing development and onboarding of new and prospective Cumberland Trust clients and their professional advisors. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked as a Customer Service Representative with State Farm.
Kailey earned a B.A. in Corporate Management and Marketing from Lipscomb University.
Tim McCoy
Tim McCoy joined Cumberland Trust in 2022 as a Trust Officer on the Special Needs Trust Administration team. His focus is on ensuring clients receive the supplemental care and support they need in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
Tim is a graduate of the American Bankers Association Trust School where he earned the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. He has twenty-four years of experience in banking, education, and trust administration. He holds a B.B.A. from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, and an M.B.A. from Western Governors University.
In his leisure time Tim enjoys reading and crafting heirloom, hardwood rocking chairs for adults and children.
Shannon McGarrity
Shannon McGarrity joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2022 as Senior Vice President and Managing Director in Business Development. In this role, Shannon leads the company’s business development team as they connect individuals, families and their financial, legal, and tax advisors with Cumberland Trust’s high caliber trust and estate administration services.
McGarrity has more than 16 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, he was a Financial Consultant at Fidelity Investments in Chesterfield, Missouri. Previously, he served as Regional Sales Manager at Scottrade/TD Ameritrade.
McGarrity earned a B.S. in Finance from The University of Memphis. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering with the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA).
Robin McNeil
Robin McNeil joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Specialist in 2022. As a collaborative member of the Special Needs Trust Administration team, Robin provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Robin served in multiple roles over six years with Brookdale Senior Living, Inc., including, Senior Living Advisor, RTA Specialist, Connection Center Supervisor, and Quality Assurance Specialist. In these roles, Robin helped families find solutions to support their loved ones diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Robin also has more than 10 years of experience in sales and customer service and retention with the USA Today Network (Gannett Company, Inc.) as a Sales & Retention Supervisor.
Robin studied Business Administration at Draughon’s Junior College of Business in Paducah, KY.
Camille McRae
Camille McRae joined the Cumberland Trust Personal Trust Administration team in 2023 as a Trust Specialist. In this role, Camille supports a team of relationship managers and focuses on providing responsive and attentive service to clients.
Camille is a native of Nashville. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from The University of Alabama.
Jodi Monroe
Jodi Monroe joined Cumberland Trust in 2013. She serves as a Business Development Associate overseeing the onboarding of new business opportunities. Jodi works in support of our Middle Tennessee market region, and specializes in providing responsive support to new clients and their financial, legal, and tax professional advisors. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Jodi worked for 20 years in the banking industry, with 12 years in management, business development, and lending.
Dave Murray
David Murray joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2024 as Managing Director, Corporate Development.
Dave has more than 20 years of experience in the trust and estate planning industry. In his role, Dave collaborates with estate planning attorneys, financial advisors, CPAs, and other professional advisors to deliver personalized trust solutions to individuals and families nationwide.
His comprehensive knowledge of various facets of financial and estate planning, coupled with extensive relationships in the financial advisory community drive new business while amplifying Cumberland Trust’s beneficiary-friendly directed trust model.
Previously, Dave served as Vice President with Sterling Foundation Management, where he specialized in working with professional advisors and their clients on charitable trust planning—including secondary planning for charitable remainder trusts. He has a strong background in strategic planning and philanthropy and related tax, legal, and financial implications.
As a frequent speaker at trust and estate planning industry events, Dave brings trust solutions and educational resources to professional audiences. He is nationally recognized within the estate planning community and has participated in numerous national and regional estate planning conferences, including The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) events.
Dave earned an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and an M.B.A from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta. He is a registered Professional Engineer (non-practicing).
Melissa Murray
Melissa Murray joined the Cumberland Trust Special Needs Trust Administration team in 2021. As Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, Melissa supports our beneficiaries with special needs, and focuses on providing responsive and attentive service to clients and their financial, legal, and tax professional advisors. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Melissa worked as a Trust Officer at Riverview Trust Company in Vancouver, Washington. Previously, she served as Treasurer at Fort Vancouver TV.
Sara Kate Nash
Sara Kate Nash joined Cumberland Trust in Estate Administration in 2022. In her role as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, Sara Kate works with the Estate Administration team to support families and professional advisors in the administration of estates and administrative trusts. Sara Kate focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families she serves. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she practiced as an associate attorney with a bankruptcy firm.
Sara Kate holds a B.A in Journalism and English with a minor in French from Indiana University Bloomington. She received a J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sara Kate is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Avery Oaks
Avery Oaks joined Cumberland Trust in 2022. As Vice President and Trust Officer, Avery works with the Estate Administration team to support families and professional advisors in the administration of estates and administrative trusts. Avery focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families he serves.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Avery was an associate attorney at Brazil Clark, PLLC and worked as an Investment Advisor at Valor Financial Services. Previously, while attending law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Kathleen N. Gomes in Division 1 of the Shelby County Probate Court. Outside of work, Avery enjoys volunteering as an assistant basketball coach.
Avery holds a B.S. in Education with Majors in Kinesiology and Criminology from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He received a J.D. and MBA from the University of Memphis.
Maddie Oates
Maddie Oates joined Cumberland Trust in 2023 as a Trust Specialist. In her role within Personal Trust Administration, Maddie supports a team of relationship managers. She focuses on providing responsive and attentive service to clients. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Maddie worked in early childhood education.
Maddie is a native of Nashville. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Corporate Management from Lipscomb University. Outside of work, Maddie enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Robert Ottinger
Robert Ottinger joined Cumberland Trust in 2021. As a Special Assets Officer, Robert supports a team working with unique, illiquid, and hard-to-value assets held in trust. He assists with various tasks related to real estate; oil, mineral, gas interests; LLC interests and other special assets for Cumberland Trust’s clients.
Robert focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families he serves. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, he worked as a Portfolio Property Manager at Metropolitan Property Management. Robert’s previous experience also includes roles at LegacyTree Foundation and Regions Bank.
Robert holds a B.S. in Finance from Tennessee Technological University.
Hadley Pagel
Hadley Pagel joined the Cumberland Trust Personal Trust Administration team in 2024 as a Trust Specialist. As a collaborative member of Personal Trust Administration, Hadley supports a team of relationship managers. She focuses on providing proactive and attentive service to clients and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through ongoing communication and assistance.
Previously in her career, Hadley served as a Financial Planning Associate with a wealth management firm.
Hadley holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Western Kentucky University.
Bonnie Parrish
Bonnie Parrish joined Cumberland Trust in 2017 and serves as a Trust Officer. As a collaborative member of the Personal Trust Administration team, Bonnie provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration. Previously, Bonnie worked on Cumberland Trust’s Operations team.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Bonnie was a Retirement Plan Co-Implementation Manager at The Retirement Plan Company, LLC where she managed an implementation team and handled trading requests for client 401ks and Required Minimum Distributions. Bonnie’s previous experience also includes roles at JP Morgan Chase and Deutsche Bank.
Outside of work, Bonnie enjoys volunteering at Grace Works and One Generation Away.
Bonnie holds B.S. degrees in Finance and Management from Lipscomb University.
Lindsay Phillips
Lindsay Phillips joined Cumberland Trust in 2022 and serves as a Trust Administrator. As a member of the Personal Trust Administration team specializing in Distinctive Care, Lindsay provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked as a leader of the Activities Department at Abe’s Garden Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Center. Lindsay also has previous experience working as a Music Therapist with a variety of individuals—ranging from babies in the NICU, children and adults with Special Needs, Seniors, and persons in hospice care.
Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy with a Minor in Psychology from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
Brooke Piazza
Brooke Piazza joined the Cumberland Trust Estate and Post Mortem Trust Administration team in 2024 as a Trust Specialist. In this role, Brooke collaborates with and supports a team of relationship managers. She focuses on providing responsive and attentive service to clients and their professional advisors in the administration of estates and administrative trusts, carefully assisting families during times of change or loss.
Brooke holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Belmont University.
Riley Randolph
Riley Randolph joined Cumberland Trust in 2021. Riley serves as a Special Assets Administrator–working with unique, illiquid, and hard-to-value assets held in trust. Previously, he served as a Compliance & Asset Transfer Specialist on the asset transfer team. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Riley worked as an Operations Analyst at UBS Financial. His previous experience also includes serving as an Assistant Property Manager/Property Accountant at Avison Young and as a Customer Service Representative at Wilson Bank & Trust.
Riley holds a B.S. in Finance with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Brian Rees
Brian Rees joined Cumberland Trust as a Trust Officer in 2024. As a member of the Personal Trust Administration team, Brian administers trust accounts for individuals and families, while working closely with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. He focuses on being attentive, responsive, and understanding to build relationships with the clients and families he serves.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Brian worked for a non-profit organization specializing in housing and community development. His experience also includes working for an estate planning law firm in Memphis. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
Brian earned a B.S. degree in Marketing from Louisiana State University. He holds a J.D. degree (cum laude) from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.
Jennie Renwick
Jennie Renwick joined Cumberland Trust in 2021 and serves as a Vice President and Trust Officer. In this role, Jennie works with high-net-worth individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors, to support their trust account management and administration needs. Jennie focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families she serves.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Jennie was Director of Client Strategy and Product Development at Trilliant Health. She has also worked for more than 24 years in the financial services industry, including roles as Vice President and Manager of Private Client Services at First Tennessee Bank and as a Financial Advisor with Heidtke & Company.
Jennie holds a B.S. degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Alabama. She is also a graduate of the Commercial Banking Executive Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Jennie has served on the Board of Directors of Vox Grata since 2017.
Zandra Ribas
Zandra Ribas joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2019. Zandra serves as a Senior Business Development Associate. In this role, Zandra provides direct support to the business development team. She assists in the onboarding of new Cumberland Trust clients and their advisors, providing attentive support during times of change. Previously, Zandra worked in retail management. She has eight years of customer service experience.
Zandra studied International Development at Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and Economics at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.
Ryan Russell
Ryan Russell joined Cumberland Trust in 2022. As Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer, Ryan works with the personal trust administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. He focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding to build relationships with the clients and families he serves.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Ryan worked for litigation firms—handling cases involving complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and personal injury. Previously, he worked in the music industry for eight years—specializing in song licensing and royalty administration with Capitol Christian Music Group (formerly EMI) and Music Services.
Ryan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (B.B.A.) in Music Business from Belmont University. He received a J.D. from Belmont University College of Law. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys volunteering at the St. Philip Legal Clinic in Franklin, TN.
Greg Sauers
Greg Sauers joined Cumberland Trust in 2020 and serves as a Trust Officer. As a collaborative member of the Personal Trust Administration team, Greg provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration. Previously, Greg worked in human resources and in youth sports.
Greg received a Business Administration degree, with minors in Organizational Management and Health Promotions from Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois. He also holds a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
Heather Savage
Heather Savage is Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer based out of Cumberland Trust’s Knoxville office. Heather develops relationships with individuals, families, and their professional advisors in East Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. She specializes in delivering a range of customized trust solutions to best serve each client.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Heather worked as Vice President and Trust Officer in the Knoxville area for GreenBank, serving as a relationship manager for trusts, agencies, IRA’s, endowments and other institutional accounts throughout East Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. Previously, she worked as a Trust Officer for Regions Bank in Knoxville and in Cincinnati, Ohio at Provident Bank in tax and trust accounting.
Heather received a B.A. in International Studies, with honors, from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a graduate of Southern Trust School in Mobile, Alabama and has earned her Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation (CTFA). She is a member of the Knoxville Estate Planning Council and the Institute of Certified Bankers.
Debbie Schultz
Debbie Schultz is Vice President and Director of Special Needs Trust Administration at Cumberland Trust. Debbie joined Cumberland Trust in 2021. She oversees the Special Needs Trust Administration department and manages a growing team of trust officers, administrators, and specialists focused on providing excellent client service. Together, she and the Special Needs Trust Administration team support families and individuals with Special Needs and collaborate with their financial, legal, and tax advisors.
Debbie has over three decades of experience in the trusts and estates industry. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she served as the trust administration team lead at the Bank of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Previously, Debbie led the Special Needs Trust team unit at Arden Trust Company in Phoenix, Arizona. She also managed the Private Client Services department at Advisory Trust Company in Phoenix, Arizona, and as a senior private client fiduciary advisor cultivated relationships with advisors, administrative support staff, and other professionals while working at their office location in Wilmington, Delaware.
Debbie holds an Executive J.D. from Purdue University Global. She earned an MBA and B.S. in Business/Management from the University of Phoenix. Debbie is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), graduate of the Cannon Trust School, through Cannon Financial Institute, and has received both the Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®) designation and the Chartered Financial Consultant® designation (ChFC®).
Dudley Selinger
Dudley Selinger has been a part of the Cumberland Trust team since 2013. As Vice President, Trust Officer, and Administration Manager, Dudley is responsible for relationship management and account administration, with a focus on high-net-worth families and their needs. Previously, Mrs. Selinger served as the Assistant Director of Development at St. Paul Christian Academy and prior to that as the Interim Development Director at Belle Meade Plantation. Dudley’s experience includes working as Senior Vice President at First American National Bank.
Dudley holds a B.A. in International Studies and French from Rhodes College in Memphis. Additionally, she is on the board of Breakthough T1D and the board of the Tennessee Camp for Diabetic Children.
Andrew Serpico
Andrew Serpico joined Cumberland Trust in 2021 and serves as a Trust Administrator. As a member of the Personal Trust Administration team specializing in Distinctive Care, Andrew provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients, and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration.
Andrew is an avid hockey enthusiast. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, he worked as the Amateur Hockey and Fan Development Coordinator for the Nashville Predators. His experience also includes positions as Hockey Operations Associate and Assistant Youth Hockey Instructor for the New York Rangers.
Andrew earned a B.S. in Accounting from Manhattanville College in New York.
Tessa Shackelford
Tessa Shackelford joined the Cumberland Trust Personal Trust Administration team in 2024 as a Trust Specialist. In this role, Tessa supports a team of relationship managers and focuses on providing responsive and attentive service to Cumberland Trust’s clients and their financial, legal, and tax advisors.
Tessa holds a bachelor’s degree in Environment and Sustainability with a minor in Economics from Sewanee: The University of the South. While attending college, she played on the women’s tennis team and worked on the university’s farm as a site leader. Tessa also interned at Sewanee DataLab and worked as an assistant instructor for Chicago Greencorps Youth Program.
Sloan Shell
Sloan Shell joined Cumberland Trust in 2015. As Vice President, Trust Officer, and Manager in personal trust administration, she is responsible for working with high-net-worth individuals and families on trust account management and administration. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Sloan worked for more than 14 years as a Private Banker and Assistant Vice President with U.S. Trust Private Wealth Management in Nashville, TN. During her time at U.S. Trust, she assisted families with multi-generational financial planning, credit needs and overall wealth management services. Previously, Sloan was with Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation for 14 years, serving in many capacities, including Director of Operations for the company.
Sloan received her B.A. in Political Science from the College of Charleston and serves on the Committee for Institutional Advancement for the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
David Shetler
David Shetler joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2020 and currently serves as Business Development Officer based in Austin. David works with Elly Hutchings to expand Cumberland Trust’s reach in Texas, building relationships with financial, legal, and tax advisors to serve our mutual clients. Previously, David’s role was Special Assets Officer, working with unique, illiquid, and hard-to-value assets held in trust. He has experience in the administration of real estate; oil, mineral, gas interests; LLC interests and other special assets for Cumberland Trust’s clients. Previously, David interned at Valmont Investments and ECOM USA working with real estate and commodities.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in business finance from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
Lauren Skipp
As Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer in Personal Trust Administration, Lauren works with clients on day-to-day needs while also focusing on longer-term trust administration goals. She focuses on delivering responsive and personalized trust administration services. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Lauren worked at Franklin Synergy Bank as a Trust and Wealth Management Associate providing support to financial advisors with client onboarding and relationship management.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Business Administration as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi.
Susan T. Smith
Susan Smith joined the Cumberland Trust team in Atlanta in 2017 to help service the ever-growing Georgia market. Susan serves as Corporate Strategy and Marketing Officer, supporting Cumberland Trust’s growth and nationwide reach through content creation, media relations, and the development, planning, and management of various strategic initiatives aimed at reaching current and new target audiences.
Previously, Susan worked as an Engagement Officer for Cumberland Trust, providing direct support to the Business Development team by initiating and developing new Trust opportunities and prospective client relationships, while also working internally to onboard new accounts.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Susan served as a Presentation Specialist at SunTrust Bank, where she was dedicated to content development and messaging strategy for commercial client services. Her past experience also includes positions in the legal field as a Docketing Assistant in Intellectual Property at Kilpatrick Townsend, LLP and as a Legal Assistant in Intellectual Property at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP.
Susan earned a B.A. in Communication from Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
An Atlanta native, Susan is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Atlanta.
Sara Speidel
Sara Speidel joined the administration team at Cumberland Trust in 2007. As Vice President and Trust Officer, Sara manages personal trust relationships. Over her tenure at Cumberland, she has gained a broad knowledge of the trust industry and has worked with a variety of trust types and circumstances. She enjoys cultivating relationships with her clients while creating and maintaining a plan for their trust that prudently meets their needs and ultimate goals. Prior to Cumberland Trust, Sara worked at a Maryland title company and has experience with title searches, deeds and other loan documentation.
Sara received a B.A. degree in Accounting from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. She is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School and has been awarded the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation.
Gina St. Charles
Gina St. Charles joined Cumberland Trust in 2007 and works with over 350 CPAs to coordinate the preparation and filing of trust tax returns with the IRS and state revenue departments. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Gina spent nine years with Merrill Lynch Insurance Group focusing on estate planning through life insurance.
Gina holds a B.S. from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Taylor Stogner
Taylor Stogner joined Cumberland Trust in 2023. As a Trust Administrator and collaborative Personal Trust Administration team member, Taylor provides proactive, high-quality service and cultivates supportive relationships with clients and their financial, legal, and tax advisors through expert, attentive trust administration. Taylor has five years of experience in banking and previously worked in trust and estate administration at a regional bank in Nashville.
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Middle Tennessee State University. She is currently pursuing the CTFA certification.
Lorena O. Suarez
Lorena Suarez joined the Cumberland Trust administration team in 2014. Lorena has years of experience in multiple specialty areas of trust administration and currently serves as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer in Special Needs Trust Administration. She focuses on providing premier and attentive service to our clients and families with special needs. Lorena specializes in building relationships with her clients through regular communication, care, and understanding. Prior to her career with Cumberland Trust, Lorena worked with children and families as a nanny and au pair.
Lorena holds an Associate degree in Business from Nashville State Community College.
Taylor Suggs
Taylor Suggs joined the Cumberland Trust Personal Trust Administration team in 2024 as a Trust Specialist. As a member of the Personal Trust Administration team, Taylor collaborates with and supports a team of relationship managers. She specializes in supporting clients and their financial, legal, and tax advisors with proactive and attentive service, providing ongoing communication and assistance.
Previously, Taylor served as the Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for Friends of Franklin Parks.
Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
Lisa Tesar
Lisa Tesar is a vice president and business development officer based in Cumberland Trust’s St. Louis office. In this role, Lisa focuses on building relationships with external advisors (including financial advisors, attorneys, and accountants), individuals and families through personalized trust and estate services. A native of Missouri, Lisa works to expand Cumberland Trust’s presence in the Midwest region.
Lisa brings a wealth of experience to the Cumberland Trust team. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust in 2021, Lisa was a senior director and business manager with TIAA, working with their private asset management group. Her experience includes developing and leading an internal middle office team to support attorneys, wealth management advisors and clients with the onboarding and funding of new trust and estate accounts and relationships. Previously, she managed grantor and decedent trust administration teams with Edward Jones.
A Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Missouri.
Lisa has been recognized for her work and accomplishments in the trusts and estates industry. Some of these accomplishments include winning the TIAA Excellence Award, serving as a TIAA Emerging Leader on the Diversity and Inclusion Council, and as a corporate United Way liaison. Additionally, Lisa serves as a Board Member of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis and as a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
Haley Tucker
Haley Tucker joined the Cumberland Trust team in 2019. She serves as Corporate Events and Strategy Associate, supporting the marketing and strategy teams in growing Cumberland Trust’s reach across the country. Previously, Haley worked as a trust specialist in the Distinctive Care Division, specializing in providing assistance to trust officers and administrators, and focusing on supporting clients with special needs. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Haley completed an AmeriCorp term with Harpeth Conservancy. She continues to volunteer with the Harpeth Conservancy working on the Tennessee rivers.
Haley holds a degree in environment and sustainability with a minor in political science from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. During her time at Sewanee, she was also a Sustainability Fellow.
Maya Wade
Maya Wade joined Cumberland Trust as an Associate in Compliance and Risk Management in 2024. In this role, Maya is responsible for account opening reviews and other risk management activities. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Maya worked as a Trust Specialist at Regions Bank. Her previous experience also includes serving as a paralegal at DearthGalat, a boutique Atlanta law firm specializing in wealth preservation and estate planning.
Maya holds a B.S. in Communication from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. She earned a master’s degree in Communication Management from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado.
Alex Walker
Alex Walker joined the Cumberland Trust administration team in in 2017. Alex serves as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer in the personal trust administration division. Alex focuses on providing careful and attentive trust administration, specializing in distinctive care services. Alex has three years of banking experience prior to joining Cumberland Trust, most recently working at First Tennessee Bank. Previously, Alex was the Powerlifting Coach for the Northern Illinois Special Olympics Team for two years. He currently coaches for the Nashville Predators youth hockey teams.
Alex holds a B.S. degree in Sociology and minor in Psychology from the University of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
Lou Anne Wolfson
Lou Anne Wolfson joined Cumberland Trust in 2013. As Vice President, Trust Officer, and Administration Manager, she is responsible for high net worth personal trust relationship management and account administration. Previously, Lou Anne served as Director of the State Advocacy Resource Center of the American Medical Association, where she represented the AMA before the highest levels of state political and medical organizations. Earlier in her career, Lou Anne worked in the Cook County State’s Attorney Office in Chicago as an Assistant State’s Attorney and Prosecutor in the Appellate Division and then in the Abuse and Neglect Division of Juvenile Court. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
Lou Anne earned a B.A. from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL where she majored in Economics. She was awarded her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
Donna Wooden
Donna Wooden brings an extensive background in customer support, project coordination, and office administration to the estate team. As a trust administrator, Donna collaborates with legal, financial, and tax professionals to ensure all aspects of an estate are given careful attention. She supports the estate administration team, providing care and attention to estate and post-mortem trust clients. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, she worked in telecommunications and has previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and taxes.
