
Jennie Menzie serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Cumberland Trust. Under Jennie’s leadership, Cumberland Trust continues to expand nationwide while remaining focused on exceptional client service, advisor collaboration, and the thoughtful administration of personal trusts and estates.
Since joining Cumberland Trust in 2012, Jennie has played an integral role in the company’s growth and evolution, recently surpassing $11 billion in assets under administration. She oversees the company’s long-term strategic direction and builds partnerships in the estate planning and financial advisory communities to develop trust and estate administration solutions that serve the unique needs of shared clients and their families.
Throughout her tenure at Cumberland Trust, Jennie has held several key leadership positions. She was elected to Cumberland Trust’s Board of Directors and named President in 2021 and appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2023. Her previous roles include Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Counsel, as well as Chief Strategy Officer and Assistant General Counsel.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Jennie served as Vice President at Thompson & Associates and as Assistant General Counsel of WebMD Envoy. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Senior Tax Consultant at Arthur Andersen and practiced law at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis. Her extensive legal, tax, and business background brings valuable judgment to her leadership of Cumberland Trust and her work within the trusts and estates industry.
Jennie’s educational background includes a B.S. in Business Administration from Auburn University, a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, and a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Additionally, Jennie is a Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning through the Institute of Charitable Estate Planning, reflecting her depth of knowledge and experience in charitable and philanthropic planning.
In addition to her leadership at Cumberland Trust, Jennie is actively engaged in organizations supporting the financial services industry. She serves as President of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Trust Organizations and is a member of the Auburn University Harbert College of Business Council. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Wealth Management Center at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
