Cumberland Trust Expands C-Suite with Promotions of Dan Jernigan and Asha Nivison

Cumberland Trust, a Nashville-based, independent corporate trustee, today announced the promotion of Dan Jernigan, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary, and Asha Nivison, Chief Information Officer, to its executive management team.

In his role as Chief Compliance Officer, Jernigan will be responsible for the oversight and execution of the compliance and risk management functions of Cumberland Trust—ensuring the company complies with various regulatory requirements and employees adhere to company policies and procedures. This ever-evolving role is imperative, as the standards and procedures in detecting and mitigating risk change constantly. Jernigan joined Cumberland Trust in 2016 and brings more than 15 years of experience in compliance, risk management, and trust operations to the position. He previously served as Corporate Secretary, Senior Vice President, and Managing Director of Compliance and Risk Management.

As Chief Information Officer, Nivison will lead the trust operations, data, and technology functions of Cumberland Trust. Responsible for the management of the trust operations and technology infrastructure of the company, she will ensure data quality and leverage data analytics for informed decision-making while driving innovation in line with the company’s business strategy and optimizing its ability to leverage data assets. Nivison brings more than 25 years of operations, project management, and software implementations experience in custody and trust operations to the role. With Cumberland Trust for more than 10 years, she most recently served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Operations and Technology.
