Starr Bruner joined the Cumberland Trust team in Atlanta in 2024. As a Business Development Officer, Starr works with Shelly Donaldson to expand Cumberland Trust’s reach in Georgia—building relationships with financial, legal, and tax advisors to serve our mutual clients.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Starr worked for six years at the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities where she most recently served as Director of Inclusive Postsecondary Education & Employment. In this role, Starr collaborated with legislators, families, students, universities, and state agencies to support college programs for students with intellectual disabilities.
Previously, Starr worked as Capacity Administrator at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and as Client Relationship Manager at The Donaldson Law Firm. She also has extensive experience in Applied Behavior Analysis, both in-clinic and in-home, serving children with developmental disabilities.
Starr graduated cum laude from Kennesaw State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Writing.
A Southwest Georgia native, Starr has been an Atlanta resident for more than 17 years. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Frazer Center, a nonprofit organization committed to fostering educational, vocational, and social opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce, which is dedicated to bridging the gap between neurodivergent individuals, families, service providers and businesses.
