Michelle Diamond serves as Chief Development Officer of Cumberland Trust and has been with the company since its founding in 2001. As one of Cumberland Trust’s earliest team members, Michelle has played an integral role in the company’s growth and evolution, helping shape its approach to client service, advisor relationships, and business development.

Early in her tenure, Michelle served as a Trust Officer and helped establish Cumberland Trust’s open-architecture approach, centered on serving families while working collaboratively with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. She also helped to develop the company’s Special Needs Trust group to provide specialized trust administration for beneficiaries with disabilities.

As Cumberland Trust has expanded, Michelle has worked to create the strategy for building a presence in new markets and was instrumental in establishing the company’s ten regional offices. Today, she leads Cumberland Trust’s business development team across the company’s headquarters and regional markets. In this role, Michelle oversees the firm’s business development efforts, guiding the team as it builds relationships with professional advisors and families and identifies new opportunities to serve clients.

Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Michelle served as a Trust Officer at First Tennessee, where she provided account and administrative support to families in the areas of personal trust, employee benefits, and investment management.

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. She holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation and is a graduate of Cannon Trust School through Cannon Financial Institute.

A recognized voice in the trust and estate industry, Michelle regularly speaks at professional and industry events across the country.
