Charlie Nelson joined Cumberland Trust as a Special Needs Trust Administrator in 2021. In this role, Charlie works with the Special Needs Trust Administration team to support individuals and families, along with their financial, legal, and tax advisors. Charlie focuses on being responsive, attentive, and understanding in order to build relationships with the clients and families he serves.
Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Charlie taught seventh and eighth grade English and Latin at a small private school in Louisville, Kentucky. Previously, while attending law school, he also interned at Disability Rights Tennessee, focusing on cases surrounding disability accommodations in Tennessee prisons and monitoring possible abuse and neglect in youth mental health facilities.
Charlie holds a B.A (magna cum laude) in Economics and Classical Languages-Latin from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He received a J.D. (magna cum laude) from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in Louisville, Kentucky.
