Dayton Hale joined Cumberland Trust in 2013 as a Trust Officer for special assets. Dayton works primarily in the evaluation and ongoing administration of special assets, including mineral, oil and gas interests, commercial and residential real estate, closely held business interests, agricultural and rural real estate, timber properties and promissory notes. His duties include coordinating the purchase and disposition of trust held properties, ordering and analyzing appraisals and overseeing the management of special assets and properties held in trust.
Previously, Dayton worked in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for Hawkeye Oil and Gas, Inc., a small oil and gas exploration company involved in coal bed methane and other conventional operations in the Black Warrior Basin of Alabama. Prior to joining Cumberland, he also worked as a law clerk for Stites and Harbison, PLLC in Franklin, Tennessee.
Dayton received his B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, a licensed affiliate broker with the State of Tennessee, and a member of the National Trust Real Estate Association (NTREA).
