Jonathan Thomaston joined Cumberland Trust in 2017 as a Trust Officer in the Estate Administration Division. Jonathan focuses on helping families in the administration of estates and administrative trusts, making sure that the client’s final wishes are carried out. Prior to joining Cumberland Trust, Jonathan served as Chief Law Clerk for Williamson County Circuit and Chancery Courts. Before that, he worked in private practice where he represented clients in estate planning and administration.
Jonathan received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was awarded a J.D. with a concentration in Business and Transactional Law from the University of Tennessee College of Law. During his time in law school, Jonathan was a member of Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law. Jonathan is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, where he is active with the Young Lawyers Division and the Estate Planning and Probate Section, as well as the Nashville Bar Association. Additionally, Jonathan is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Middle Tennessee.
