Dayton Hale joined Cumberland Trust in 2013 as a Trust Officer for special assets. Dayton works primarily in the evaluation and ongoing administration of special assets such as mineral, oil and gas interests, commercial or residential real estate, closely held business interests, agricultural and rural real estate, timber properties, insurance policies and promissory notes. His duties include coordinating the purchase and sale of properties held in trust, ordering and analyzing appraisals and overseeing the management of special assets and properties held in trust.
Previously, Dayton worked in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for Hawkeye Oil and Gas, Inc., a small exploration company involved in coal bed methane and other conventional operations. Prior to joining Cumberland, he worked as a law clerk for Stites and Harbison, PLLC in Franklin, Tennessee.
Dayton received his B.A. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a member of the AAPL and a past member of the Black Warrior Association of Petroleum Landmen.
